Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities at Curtin University, Malaysia!

The faculty of humanities is committed to developing graduates who apply discipline knowledge, are critical thinkers, inspirational creators, ethical practitioners, problem solvers and leaders. In the studio, in the classroom, or in the field, our students appreciate the many opportunities and challenges provided to them, and work in collaborative teams to achieve their objectives and outcomes. The Humanities courses at Curtin University, malaysia, provide students with the ability to think, interpret, engage in research led learning, analyze meaningful data, create, communicate and translate across a variety of media and settings in the extraordinarily fast-changing environment of our times. Our graduates are members of an international community of scholars both nationally and regionally. Our students and academics bring varied experiences, methodologies, viewpoints and approaches to the discipline and knowledge.  Academics and students reach out to the profession and the community by transforming existing conventions of intellectual exchange and through active engagement.

As Dean I work with colleagues, students, industry partners and alumni to promote a distinctive place for Humanities in our institution. By supporting existing and new collaborations with other divisions and units, the Humanities will play a key role aligned to furthering the university’s mission of learning, research, and engagement.
